Hockey Coaching - VRQ Hockey Level 1 Coaching Course
At Futures Sports we run the Level 1 Hockey Coaching Course. On completion of this course you will become an accredited Level 1 hockey coach, which is the minimum qualification for those involved in hockey coaching.
The Hockey Coaching Level 1 Award provides the essential skills and knowledge necessary to run a safe and enjoyable hockey coaching session which introduces new players to the game.
Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years old to attend this specialised youth hockey coaching course and should understand that they will not be permitted to coach hockey independently.
As part of the National Coaching Certificate the Level One Hockey Coaching Award enables the candidate to perform junior hockey coaching sessions under the supervision of a more senior hockey coach.
Level 1 hockey coaches aged 18 and over can obtain insurance and practice in the role of Hockey Coaching Assistant alongside a fully qualified Level 2 Hockey Coach.
Our Level One Hockey Coaching Courses are suitable for those with some experience of playing hockey and perhaps with practice in helping in a coaching/teaching environment.
The course length is a minimum of 17 hours contact time and is run over a minimum of three separate occasions. A formal (summative) assessment is included within the course along with a short theory exam paper. The candidate will be informed after the assessment if they have been awarded the qualification.
As well as our top-class hockey coaching courses for adults, our hockey schools are great for children to develop their hockey skills
